Review

Nick Park classics include the creation of Wallace and Gromit and now another one is added to the list. Yes chicken Run the first full length film created Aardman animation is filled with optimistic chickens creating light hearted comedy. Hollywood dosh allowed this slow motion miracle to be created. I take my hat off to them. They have pulled off this world supremacy creating over 80 minutes of pure and classic entertainment.

Who knew chickens could be so intelligent not Mrs. Tweedy that’s for sure! Ginger the strict commander and chief is a hard nut to crack but a lovable character all the same. Is it possible for them to taste freedom or is being held back by an uneventful life of laying eggs stopping them.

Rocky could be the chicken’s knight in shining armour, could he help them escape in this drama comedy and help them devise a plan to chance their arm at freedom. The dream of escape has to soon become reality as it turns into a race against the clock to see the back of Mrs Tweedy.

The chicken eggs are counted for the last time as the farm is soon to be turned into a pie investment and guess what the main ingredients is going to be? Of course it’s the chickens. The film does have a mystery element as who would have thought this chicken farm set in the Yorkshire dales of England had a sinister side?

This film is suitable for all ages, simple enough for children to grasp the escape plan however filled with comedy action to fore fill the adult’s needs.

Verdict

Superb entertainment, a hint of passion and brilliantly cast voices what more do you want from an animated film about chickens?
